Cookie Policy

This policy describes the cookies and browser storage that the Proxeta website actually uses, what each item is for, how long it lasts and how you can change your choice. Everything listed here was verified against the live product code.

Effective date:
26 September 2026
Last updated:
26 September 2026
Version:
1.0

When this policy says "cookies", it also covers local storage and similar browser storage and access technologies, not only HTTP cookies. The site does not use third-party cookies, advertising cookies, analytics cookies or tracking pixels.

1. Categories you can choose

  • Necessary. Required for sign-in, session security and remembering your cookie choice. Without them the Service does not work, so they are always on and cannot be switched off.
  • Referral attribution. Optional. Stores a referral code in your browser for 30 days so that the account that invited you can receive a reward. Refused by default and only stored after you accept it.

No other category exists today. If analytics or similar technology is ever introduced, it will require a new consent version, will default to off, and will not be enabled before an explicit choice.

3. Your choice

On your first visit a cookie notice appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen (on mobile it is a full-width sheet). It offers two equally sized choices — Accept all and Necessary only — plus a Settings action for a granular choice. Nothing optional is stored before you make that choice, and the optional category is never pre-selected.

If you arrive through a referral link before deciding, the referral code is kept only in memory for the current page and is not written to browser storage. It is persisted only if you accept referral storage, and it is discarded otherwise.

4. Changing or withdrawing your choice

Use Cookie Settings in the site footer at any time. Withdrawal takes effect immediately: the optional referral item is removed from your browser storage without a page reload, and the Service stops using it. Necessary items remain, because the Service cannot operate without them.

You can also delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser settings. Blocking necessary items will prevent sign-in and other parts of the Service from working.

5. Server-side records

Separately from browser storage, the Service keeps technical server logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, status, user agent) and, for a short period, rate-limiting counters derived from a one-way hash of the requesting IP address. These are described in the Privacy Policy.

The Chrome extension Proxeta Proxy Manager has its own, separate policy: Proxeta Proxy Manager Privacy Policy.
